Assistant Instructional Professor of Elementary Education with expertise in Reading - Continuing - Non-Tenure Earning
The Department of Teaching and Leadership in the College of Education at Pittsburg State University seeks applicants for an elementary education faculty member with an expertise in reading, at the rank of Assistant Instructional Professor. Teaching responsibilities include teaching courses specifically focused on evidence-based approaches to literacy acquisition based on the science of reading. This position is aligned with the Kansas Blueprint for Literacy and the faculty member will be involved in the creation of and leadership in the Regional Center for Excellence in Reading. The successful candidate must have specific training and experience applying Structured Literacy methodologies. A master's degree in education, reading or similar field is required. The candidate must be willing to pursue a doctorate degree.
