Patient Care Tech Location: Penn Yan, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $588 per week Shift Information: 12 hours Contract Duration: 14 Weeks Start Date: 8/3/2026 About the Position Job Title: Patient Care Technician Profession: Patient Care Tech Specialty: Acute Care Duration: Full-Time Shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM with every other weekend and holidays Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in an acute care hospital setting License: BLS certification required Certifications: CPI certification within 30 days of hire Must-Have: High school diploma or GED 1 year of acute care experience in a hospital setting Computer literacy Description: Full-Time Patient Care Technician in the Emergency Department. Provides patient care activities and clerical functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Supports clinical operations of the Emergency Department. Demonstrates the ability to organize, plan, and complete assignments. Engages in courteous interactions with patients, families, and staff. Requirements include computer literacy, and preferred experience in phlebotomy and EKG. Ensures a healing environment through professionalism and effective communication. Provides age-appropriate care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Performs patient care tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, hygiene care, vital signs, and patient transport. Accurately inputs radiology, laboratory, and EKG orders into the system. Maintains departmental filing systems and manages communication within the department. Monitors and restocks supplies, and ensures cleanliness of utility areas. Reports changes in patient condition promptly to nursing staff. Follows infection prevention protocols rigorously and ensures safe patient handling and mobility. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient patient flow and continuity of care. Documents patient care and observations in medical records according to policy. Maintains equipment by cleaning and reporting malfunctions promptly.
